Dinkum
Multiplayer doesn't work
Hello, I've checked the forums with this game about multiplayer not working and it still doesn't work. It's been over 2 years since this game was released early access shouldn't this problem be fixed now? I want to play with my gf this game but when we try to join each others host game it tries to join then just cancels and the world then shows as blank. Both our steam is online and we followed the proper procedures. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Maybe you should email customer support or check if it's your antivirus?
Most of us don't have problems connecting in multiplayer and I know a streamer who regularly plays with a full room of 6. My friend also tried during the free weekend this week and she connected just fine too with my paid game.
I'm no networking expert, but this might be a port setting on one or both of your computers.

I have recently played multiplayer game with a friend that is new to Dinkum. We didn't have any problems. You might want to share your problem with support or with the discord community. You might find some helpful hints from other players

Do you see each other online on Steam? Also, make sure your Privacy Settings on Steam are set to at least "Friends Only".

I'd assume it's either that or possibly a network issue between you and your friend.

She lives in Vietnam and I live in US so would this be considered not possible due to the distance from each other? I appreciate all the suggestions I'll try them out. Thank you.

That shouldn't be an issue. We do game nights that include folks from the US, Canada, and the Philippines with no issues.
I spent 3 hours trying to port forward and remove any potential blockages like removing her avast anti software and switched it back to windows, I did inbounding within the firewall with custom permissions with the UPC and TPC and the farthest I've gotten to was being able to connect for a few minutes but It wouldn't show the resources I try to collect only she could see it before it disconnected. Most of the time it shows a frozen landscape screen and the only way out of it was to close the game. I've disabled firewalls and it didn't do anything either and it just feels like this game is too buggy to have to spend this much time trying to make it work only for it to still not work for us.

I imagine you have played at least one day of Dinkum and slept in the game to save before opening it to multiplayer and that the other person has also played one day and slept to set their character?

Like the comment above said, did you both each play solo for 1 in-game day first? You need to clear the first day (sort of tutorial) then sleep to save, before you can play multiplayer.
