Just a reminder, back up your save files.

Also cloud saves are generally a mess across Steam and if you can avoid using them, I'd recommend not using them.

Yes awlays backup your saves.
This game isn't bug free and you never know what rare obscure progression breaking bugs you may run into.

I had one of my save soft locked before due to a strange conversation glitch that persisted to next day that i could not find a solution to or mention online. Forcing me to reload a backup before that. (no mods)

Can I reset the saves to not go to the cloud? I thought that was an option at one point but now can't find that. It might have been a different game?

You have to turn off cloud saves in general I recall.
