is there a glitch with fishing? my fish are always breaking the line

no matter what i do,. my fish break the line., they keep on swimming all the way back out after i let them fight then try to reel them in when they arnt doing anything, they swim and pull all the way back out to where it started and then it just breaks eventually

this is everywhere i try even right at the starter area?
do i need to start a new game... its literally impossible to catch fish in my game

Sounds weird- usually they only do a long swim once. After that it gets shorter and shorter - maybe you arent switching fast enough?

There's no glitch that I know of, but fishing definitely takes a bit of time to get the hang of it. Once you do get it, though, it's pretty easy. There's are guides and videos that help.

no its def something wrong, they dont swim long once, every single time. they swim back out to the fullest extent

from my experience they start strong and become weaker (less long resistance periods) after reeling them in for a while.

it may or may not help to tire them out faster by tapping/releasing the reel button for half a second at a time while they are resisting, if done right it should not increase line tension

Try fishing in a narrow river-like area ... that way they don't have room to run out the line. If that doesn't stop it, I don't know what's wrong.

my style of fishing: fish on the hook->hold button till half of the bar is empty->rapid pushing the button till it turns around->pull him in with like 0,5 to 1,5 seconds of pushing the button

ITS LITERALLY the fact the fish never stops fighting, it just goes and goes until the line breaks... im not dumb i know how to fish lol

my friend also joined and said it was weird
i even started a new game and its doing it..

as long as there is water to swim the fish will continue to swim, and even if i start reeling it in, the moment it fights it goes all the way back out or further until the line breaks

I find that if I hold it, let them splash around crazy and then reel them in a little- repeat that process

odd, maybe its animation or speed is tied to framerate? tried capping it at 60?

Get good, the fishing just feels a bit more like a fishing game does and less like the boring crap most games use as fishing.

When it's swimming away, you don't reel. If you're not reeling the meter turns off. The meter will come back though if you don't reel when it's not fighting. Essentially real when it stops splashing, stop when it starts splashing again. Maybe try some small fish first. Different types of fish will fight harder.

When I hook a fish it splashes as it swims away, it will keep on swimming away but stop splashing. This is when you reel it, soon as it turns and splashes again you stop. You typically get to reel it toward you 2-3 seconds then have to pause a couple seconds, and repeat. Generally the 2nd or 3rd reel session the fish seems to not try to fight as quickly and you land it.

If the fish is full on splashing nonstop then that is a wicked bug that doesnt make alot of sense as to why it would target you, even with a new game started.

i found the best option is to avoid fishing technique all together and just spam the ♥♥♥♥♥ out of the mouse button, so that he glitch reels,

everyone trying to tell me how to fish, i know. i hve over 2k in animal crossing, i know how fishing in these games works, something is very wrong with mine. the fish keeps on swimming out no matter what i do

the only way i found to work is to mouse spam click as fast as i can and not stop lmao
