Getting new residents

I can't seem able to hire new residents everytime there's a new one even if I complete task for him, I also have no more deed to pay

I only have John(shop) and Theodore (Museum) but then theo left. I put down the museum and he came back. We bought items/quests for Clover, science guy and animal guy but they still haven't joined yet.

Yeah I've only managed to get the Shop/Museum NPCs to stay. I've just built the Deep Mine, so maybe more deeds will open up after that.

Same for me. when i do a quest or talk to them not sure if both, i see they have a star meter like harvest moon that lets you know how much they like you. maybe that needs to be filled up more.

I think its a slow system based on getting lucky enough for someone to visit frequently enough and with actually achievable requests in order to get their hearts up for them to want to stay. I'm not sure though as I only just got the museum.

You must donate for the city (behind Fletcher) when there is zero, talk to Fletcher and a new building will be available (Sorry for my unclear english) :)

The only options I got when I talk about the town to Fletcher are : Can I see the deeds (I paid everything) and second option : I want to move a building.

I've done every single donation, but haven't bought level 3 house

After you fully paid off your deed, did you get a request from the next visitor? That will give you another deed to place.

you need to get a almost full heart with the NPC you want to stay. Then at the end of the day talk to them again and they will say they want a deed to live there.

also make sure you have no debt

no worries. Basically the NPC needs to want to stay there and you do that by making them like you ^^

I do think the museum guy is a little misleading to have. He joins regardless of how much he likes you.
