where can i find iron?
I've searched all over the map, but I can't find any iron ore.

Large flat grey rocks have them. Also, by levelling up your mining skill new ore nodes with new ore will slowly start appearing on your island.

However, the best way to get it is the Deep Mines, which you can get a deed for with the Deep mining licence.

dear james - until i am able to get access to the deep mines i believe i dont care about iron
you get iron tools early in game but access to deep mines very late
