peaceful wish
Why, oh, why did you eliminate the peaceful wish? I can no longer go into the mines, because I hate, hate, hate fighting the denizens. For those who liked the challenge, they just didn't have to do the wish and they could fight to their hearts' content. Please consider bringing back that option.

It's definitely an odd change. Not sure what the dev was thinking.

Peaceful wish was never intended to be applied to the mines - they're meant to be dangerous.
They're less dangerous if you're properly equipped or have some friends to help out :)

Doesnt peaceful still apply to the beasts in the mines? In the patch notes it says it doesnt longer apply to grubs and the plants in the undergrove, so insects and flora (and the humanoids in the hot mines)

there is a mod that allows you to go to the mines and nothing attacks you unless you attack them

I'm more pissed off that the peaceful wish doesn't function properly in Undergrove anymore.
Grubs and Pitcher Plants are immune.

Pitcher Plants maybe i kind of get cause they are plants and not animals?
But Grubs????? ... Just why.

Squiggle, everything in the hot level attacked me (not sure if any were 'animals'). I didn't know about the water bottles, which I guess is poured on the lava to solidify it, so you can go elsewhere. I'm older and just don't enjoy the fighting aspect of any game. So, i stay out of the mines.

They're not animals and the hot mine is supposed to be late game.

You can avoid the combat by using blastoads to stun the flame jellies and yobbolins to loot the chests and get out.

If you bring a glider, you can just glide over the lava. See the first page of the announcement where I linked the guide to the new update.

Two thoughts: actually animals, Crocs, bush devils, and frillies are affected. Grubs (insects maybe?), pincher plants, flame jellies, and yobbolins aren't animals.

That said, peaceful wish isn't that peaceful.

Anyone know if the a apathetic mobs mod works?

It wasn't working on the Winter update yesterday, but today there is a new version available which works so you'll need to install the updated version.

Here's the link if anyone is interested. I don't use this, so I can't help you if something comes up.

I want the RESOURCES in the mines, but not the fighting. I wanted a chill and relaxing game. It's getting to be less that with each update. That will teach me to buy early access.

And those with the "get friends" response - the game has a single player option - that means I should be able to play by myself. I don't want to play with other people, I like SOLO games.

Yeah, I hate the change. I don't even want to try out the new update because of that. Why do I have to fight in every freaking game!

The hot mines are a huge step up in difficulty. The huge numbers of enemies in the forts, if you get hit you burn, getting dizzy. It reminds me of my mythic raiding days in warcraft years ago except I do not heal when I hit stuff :( I'm going for the ice hammer now to hopefully make it a bit easier but its end of spring in my game atm so I need to "skip" to winter for the snowballs

The hot hot can be done without the ice hammer, but the next best item is the alpha or plant hammer. The sheer number of enemies requires a large AOE weapon and our choices are limited. However, the blastoad + glider method can allow you to loot the mine without fighting anything. I struggled with the hot hot until I brought 15-30 blastoads per mine run. With the ice hammer the real enemy is time. I suppose with the no late energy penalty mod and no mine radiation mod, you could wipe out every enemy and loot the entire map if you had a few hours of real time.

I don't think the hot hot mine is hard with the right load out and 2-3 runs of practice. What I'm seeing now is peoples' reactions to not being prepared and also experiencing it for the first time. It gets easier.
