does this game have any life sim aspects like animal crossing?

I keep seeing people say this is similar to animal crossing so I am curious, does this have random NPCs that can move in and just *live* in your town in the same way? not story/plot/shop keepers or something

Theo runs a museum and only sells stuff like cameras and a few books. Fletch just lives in the town but acts sort of like a mayor. Sally is a hair dresser but doesn't otherwise sell anything. There's also a banker who doesn't sell anything.

All NPCs that come into town have a role, but they have a schedule, and will have free days and some free time during the day to go around the town you build.

well if you want to get pedantic isn't it kinda unrealistic to have people around a town that have no role and just live there? like not even people's house spouses just actual layabouts that serve no function in the community other than another person for you to talk to but also inexplicably have the money to afford a house and furniture?

I was specifically asking if this had NPCs similar to animal crossing villagers, which has over 400 different NPCs that can live in your town with no role, they do however appear to still go around and fish, catch bugs and craft in their home

ah I see. thanks for the info! I always wished this was a thing in animal crossing as well, seeing the special NPCs around town like a normal villager.

No, they all have roles. Would be a cool addition if added in the future though.
As a fellow Animal Crossing fan, if you are into games like AC, Stardew Valley, My Time At Portia etc, you will love this game. I highly reccomend it.

As a fellow Animal Crossing fan, if you are into games like AC, Stardew Valley, My Time At Portia etc, you will love this game. I highly reccomend it.

Same here. Bought it at release and waited for updates. Started playing a couple of weeks ago. Good game so far.
