Bridges!!

Are there any plans to make the bridges span over waterbeds and/or gaps without water under them?

I had a great area for home and work stations, up five levels and with a gap of about seven between the two raised areas. Planned on joining them with a bridge, but it wouldn't let me. Being able to place bridges in areas like this would really be a great way to expand the building and creativity of the players.

With all that you are dealing with and working on, please consider adding to the bridge building experience. Thanks, love the game and have got a few of my friends into it as well. Best to you all and great job on this game.

Its not about the water, its about objects underneath them. You cant place bridges over stones and seaweed either. So you can place them over land but there should be nothing under the bridge.

There's also a limit of 13 tiles for bridge length and both sides have to be the same height.

Yep, I found even trees, bushes, rocks and tufts will block a bridge. It would be nice if the items interfering with placement would be lighted or something. I just scythe/pickaxe underneath and remove EVERYTHING.

Ive always wanted to make a tiered village with the jungle biome and bridges running everywhere but I cant because of this :( Maybe someday in the future.

Well you can, you just can't place anything other than paths under the bridges. People have towns with bridges going everywhere with varying heights.

I was really disappointed when I discovered I couldn't place a bridge of a created waterbed/river.

spent so many hours making a small crafted riverbed to find this out too AGH, wonder if theyll add a way for it to not block it in future bc this really stunts creativity!
