mini map is useless

this mini map needs a to zoom more because it is useless. everything looks like it is right next to each other even if huge distance apart

it's about 100 tiles or so round - not really sure what your complaint is

when i reference the mini map, everything looks mushed together in terms of icons. So I end up having to constantly open my larger world map instead to see where something is. For example, in the mini map, I am directly on top of glowing icon, in reality, I am quite a distance away from it and to the left. the map needs to zoom in more so every icon on it doesn't look like its right where I am standing

seems like you need your mini map to zoom in to be 60 0r 50 tiles wide - or for the icons on map to be smaller and more accurate to player location.

i really don't have many icons highlighted on my map so i haven't had that problem myself.

but i can understand your frustration

yeah. I am hoping the devs realize this and zoom the map a bit, or at least give us the option to zoom. Its very frustrating to always be in the world map just to make sure I don't get turned around while travelling, which currently happens to me a lot. I won't even know I am turned around until I am so far from the location that i just give up and go back to village

Do you know you can go into the Map and make a location active? If not, go into your Map. If a marker is not already there like an existing building for example, you can create one by clicking on the Map and choosing one from the little icons menu. To make a marker active click on it (click it again to make it inactive). It activates it and makes the mini-map show that marker.

Another thing that will help is to go into the game settings and under Options, go to the 4th Tab (looks like a controller) and put a check mark in Mini-Map Always Faces North. That will help orient your mini-map in a set direction.

BTW, there is only one developer. Maybe zoom will be added in a future update but with just one person working on the game it could be awhile.

I know how to set a marker but like I said, the map itself visual is the problem. All the icons appear next to each other despite being extremely far apart from one another. I can see myself directly on top of an icon I set, despite being quite a distance away from it

Ah, got it. Glad you knew you could set markers then. Maybe a future update will give us a Zoom in/out feature for the mini-map.

turns out, hitting + or - on keyboards zooms in and out. I play on controller so had no clue. I found out from a friend. WOW. I feel kind of stupid that I didn't think of it. But at least it may help someone else :)

For as long as I've played, I've never used those keys to zoom in and out so Thank You very much for posting it.

ETA: Jeeze Louise. I haven't played for awhile so went into my game to try out the + or - to zoom in and out. Want to know a faster way to zoom in and out with mouse and keyboard? The center scroll wheel on the mouse. I didn't even get to the + or - keys you mentioned. Just instinctively rolled my mouse wheel to zoom in. Someone's done it a million times they forgot they knew how to do it. Sorry for the misinformation.

ok i thought you where talking about the mini map that is in the corner of the screen,

but i was not able to zoom in or out of that map.

it is the map you see when you click 'm' and see the whole island. the mouse wheel works for me but the + and - didn't.
