Mine Problems

I'm playing in someone else's world and got two messages while playing around with the mineshaft controls:

"I shouldn't use this"

and

"Something shiny might go here"


What do these two messages mean?

In the mine shaft there is a new control panel

It is the place where you can set the elevator to go to a deeper part of the mines (2nd level)

It requires 4 ruby shards (from the rubies you find in 1st level)

if you place the ruby shards in the new panel, this will set the elevator to the 2nd level

if you are going to the 2nd level, be very prepared for a lot of agro mobs and have more old keys.

So that explains "Something shiny might go here". Pretty cool!

But what about "I shouldn't use this"? I assume this is how you get to the 1st level, but it doesn't seem to be working. Is it because only the island's owner is allowed to use the elevator (I'm on someone else's island)?

you said you where on multiplayer - it is my understanding that only host player can use the consoles in the mine shaft

I read somewhere that you needed the ruby shards to get deeper in the mines but I had no idea how to use them.
