The seasonal crops are good for making the Prime Roast - I used to make that in batches of 50 to sell - but they are more useful as a food buff for the undergrove.

Now we have Sheila in game, she pays 2.5x more then John for all food items.

So really it's up to you. Personally I enjoy growing everything and making all the cooking items in batches of 50 and selling to Sheila or Jimmy depending on my needs to Dinks - but I am end game now on both my islands and don't need Dinks any more.

I never enjoyed the processes involved with making bread and fairy bread - just don't like the grain mil and clicks to end product.

io to make money is Farming not the best source but still Fishing.

if you still want to farm, then for direct sale is Autumn best season with Cabbage. if you plant Pumpkins you can harvest them into the Winter. Corn is two-seasonal plant in Autum, harvest (per hand, NOT with scythe) till end of Winter.
replace Cabbage in Winter with Kale.
use Spring to plant Potatoes for Fish & Chips, which helps you with Fishing in Spring for Travallas & Barracudas.
in Summer are Watermelons great.

regarding recipes it gets complicated cause it depends what else you prefer to do in game.

Prime Roast brings 13T but needs Alpha meat, which is not really abundant, also 5 different crops spread through different seasons & needing different care, so i never did it. too much fuss, no reliable yield.

maybe i would still consider Pavlova as the best recipe if you want to use crops. brings 6.5T.
for that you need to plant Sugar Cane all year long, plant all 4 Fruit trees (lots of Bananas, half of in Lime & Quandong & some in Apple) & you need also some chickens.
how recipes work was buffed by now, so you can use both sorts of Eggs, normal & Big.

if you add Vombats to the Chickens, then you can make Lamington, 5T.
same as with Eggs, Milk was buffed & you can use normal & High quality. add to the Sugar Cane also Wheat. either harvest Coconuts in wild if you have many small islands in the north or plant some Coconut Trees.

Almost all of the crops are less profitable per day than just cooking apples, a cooked apple is worth 390, getting 4 every 6 days gives you a profit per day of 260 per tree.
