Dinkum

Is there any confirmed fix for memory leaks with Dinkum multiplayer?
I had already been playing several hours with one friend when two more decided to join. On the second day of us playing the game it started lagging only for me, the host. Eventually this lead to my game freezing up when we went to bed for the night. The other players forced the game to quit while I went to investigate what might be causing it. I eventually got my system to stop freaking out enough to see in the task manager that the game was approaching 12 gigs of v-ram usage when I only have 16 and there are other windows processes and a few other programs already taking some. I eventually got it to let me save our day by closing a number of programs but I'd like my computer to not die whenever we play. Is there any way to fix this? All of my searches have lead to threads that ended before anyone confirmed a fix.

Best to troubleshoot this problem on the Discord https://discord.gg/bXFK2ZddVm

these are the questions they need answers to when you post there -

Are you using cheats, mods or dev commands?
What platform & operating system are you playing on?
Does this issue occur in Single Player or Multiplayer?
Are you using a mouse & keyboard or controller?
Have you saved & reloaded the game?
Have you restarted your PC?
Have you checked for updated graphics drivers?
Have you verified the integrity of your game files?
Have you uninstalled and then reinstalled your game?
Do you have Steam Cloud Sync turned on?
Are you using any controller emulators?
Does this issue occur in other games?

I can answer most all of those but I'd rather not add yet another server to my already crowded discord, in the event it would help I can answer here. I'll continue to look around online.

cheats, mods, commands?- Yes to cheats and commands. We've been using the dev commands to slow time speed and have a save function without going to sleep. We also spawn exclusively basic equipment due to the once a day buy and there being 4 of us.

platform/op system?- Steam, windows 10

Single/multiplayer?- This issue seems to only happen in multiplayer.

Keyboard/controller?- I use a controller except when typing commands. Or grabbing an item.

Saved/reloaded?-Yes, but the leak seems to persist

restarted pc?- Same as above

Updated graphics?- Yes, the day prior I had installed a Nvidia update. I would hope this is not the cause.

Verified integ?- Not yet, I'll try this.

Uninstalled/reinstalled?- No, I'll also try this.

Steam cloud?- I'll look, i've never changed the settings but I assumed it installed with it enabled.

No controller emulators are installed.

This does not happen with any other game.

I can understand the desire not to add new discord servers. However the volunteers that help to troubleshoot and alert James to game bugs are only on that server.

Have you tried to turn off your mods and see if the problem still persists?

I am not sure if you will get the technical assistance you may need on these forums.

We are like the triage here - we can answer questions to known issues but really the more technical assistance is the discord.

I'd wager that the slow time command/mod is probably what is causing the massive memory usage when all 4 players are on.

Sorry for the late response. I might've bought a game on the summer sale and forgot I was looking for assistance. I'll try what I said I was going to above. I don't have any mods though. If that doesn't work I'll look towards discord. It's not like I can't hop off the server after the problems fixed. Thank you for at least responding. :)

I was thinking this might have been the issue. It seems like something that would take resources. We'll try without the time slow at some point and see if this fixed anything. Thanks for the response :)

Edit- Just saw your name. It's great ^-^
