Marble

I went into the lower layer of the mines, found many vines, but no marble. Is there a certain side to look on for it, or just hope you run into some? It's the main reason I went down there.

It's in the floor. Look for white spots in the dirt

In addition to what was already said, I usually found areas of marble in a big group/area, like a 10 by 10 section or 15 by 15. It's usually not just 2 or 3 here or there. Once I knew what to look for it wasn't too hard to find 3 or 4 areas with it just by using a glider over the river areas and looking at the coast. A lot of times I found the marble sticking out into the river on a few blocks, with the big section of it on the coast.

I always found it gliding up or down the river, just following it along. It is really hard to see what it looks like till you find some at first, then you know what to look for. It will be brown soil, but it will have little tiny white dots on it. You have to look closely, as it doesn't stand out unless you are looking for it, and know what it looks like lol.

It took my third time going down to find it, and that's when I was down there specifically for that reason. I just barely noticed a slight difference in the soil in a area, and decided to use my jackhammer there to see. That's when I figured it out, and more trips down for more were a lot easier to spot it.

It looks so much like the other dirt, that's frustrating. I've tried my jackhammer on all the dirt piles though just to be sure. But, okay, so it's not necessarily easy to find.

Okay, so it's on the dirt ground I posted a screenshot of, but not all of them. The torches are also TERRIBLE for being able to see it. The miner's helmet is helpful.
