What can go in a planter??

The wiki page says "Plant flowers and other plants in it" (cement planter) so I figured I could put stuff like bottle brush or the new mini trees from the Underground in them, but none of them will go in....what exactly qualifies as "other plants"?

.....anything with the 'bury' tag won't go in a planter. Plants, flowers & the small flowering bushes etc, that don't require a shovel for burying, you can pop right in your planter... Thinking about it anything you can scythe to collect(except grass seeds) is probably ok for planters.....

Lily pads, bushes, ferns can be planted in a planter.

Seaweed, river reeds, trees, bottle/wattle brush, cannot.
