I have a 1k springs and 1k cogs if you need some. Been playing this one map since a few weeks after game got released if you need some.
Old Springs can also be found in the deep mines, I think, on old car wrecks.
Wires and Button Boards have a chance to drop in crab pots in the ocean, but I don't know how useful or likely that is.
Green Boards and Hot Cylinders would be the easiest if you needed those, since you just need to check for the Investigation task on the bulletin board and it will drop a bunch. But it's not that common.
Actually i was curious to know what was the best way to get some since sprinklers and some other usefull things needs hard and it seems metal detector is by far the most usefull thing to use to get some.
You both are really kind for your explanations and propositions to grab some stuff but actually i'd rather prefer getting it by myself since i don't wanna have the feeling to "cheat" in order to get some. Anyways thanks for the offer.
Well, i guess i'll use for some days the metal detector more than usually and will slowly get some stuff. Thanks for pointing that it is the best and consistent way to get them.
And to be honest i'm not a real fan of mines, bats are really boring at the point it is really not fun anymore to get there...i have the feeling that i can't stop even few seconds to breathe without being attacked even if i don't move and have no aggro.
Well, thanks again for your answers, it helped me a lot :)
I don't know why, but it works
I don't know if that will carry over to the new update
as for things you are struggling to find - it is only because you are using them to make items. When you no longer need to make these items you begin to stock pile them.
When I was struggling to find springs I used my metal detector along water ways. But now I will be making quarries and grass farms asap on new maps.
take care and good luck.
Dev patched that out a long time ago. The whole grass to tech was a huge exploit of burying grass seed and then digging it up a few days later for tech.
It was great while it lasted 🥹
I have noticed that in a grass farm, if there's no grass growing in one spot, it's a sign there is tech buried there.
There's a mod for the game that removes all the enemies. I think it's called peaceful mines. That should solve your issues with the mines. Back up your game save files first though before using any mods.
I didn't know about the buried grass seed - I was talking about the grass farm with sprinkler and tuffs.
That was a really broken exploit in the early days of the game. You could literally get hundreds of tech for free in extreme densities.
What did you mean by treasure in grass farms though?
So i transformed my mega farm to grass farms for large scale decorative builds
This is a process of encouraging tuffs to grow on every tile.
While doing this work, I noticed that many X and blank grass tiles appear
(more then would normally appear with out the grass farm)
I dig the blank grass tiles and X's that reveal treasure every time (or ambers) and continue to encourage tuffs to grow.
I am not the only one to experience this, so others have noticed this in their grass farms too.
I have also seen this in Ljay's grass farm on stream.
That is why I think for what ever reason, grass farms seem to increase the chances of treasures to appear.
But again, this may not carry over into the blooming spring update. Will have to wait and see on that.
Is this with or without sprinklers?
have to use sprinklers to get tuffs to grow.
Interesting. I do too but I haven't noticed any increase in tech. But then again, I only farm like 130 tiles of grass, so that just might not be a big enough sample..
Mate i noticed some special beaches on the map far away from my town gives a lot of more stuff to dig up than those other nearby beaches doing and beaches is definitely the best places to search with and without metal detector except that some stuff in the game take long time where it is what it is as in all other game.
Some beaches is big where i didn`t find so much where those barrel is scattered out where i find a lot of stuff to dig on those smaller beaches and not so much on those narrow shorelines.
You can always take a trip around the map and from time to time and only dig up those cross on the shoreline/beaches who really do not take so very long time and one tripp from time to time gives a lot of item.
