a shovel of any soil type will change the tile it is placed on, so you can make a large area with just one shovel.
The Bottle Tree seed will only show up in the recycling bin (good luck)
Water lily pads are not place-able
however, you can grow crops under water - people use sugar cane and wheat (as the seasonal crops will wither)
you can plant grass seeds under water - so for instance the tropical grass seed is a fun one because it naturally grows so many different plants (bushes, ferns, spinifex )
no seeds for lily pads, no seeds for grass trees
I just start up the game few hour ago and have run around everyplace and collect stuff and mark everything on the map.
Have not yet choose where to build my town and where to build my house but i have two places where one is around these water lily pads or nearby the jungle and mangrove trees.
I can build my farm and house nearby the water lily pads and my town nearby the jungle with mangrove trees and these bottle trees who take me 20 second to run between those two places.
Do ore spawn back by the way and trees who is nearby the town ?
Any hint about everything before i place out my first building is welcome.
Mature Trees will drop seeds that can be buried and replanted (just not the bottle tree or grass tree)
Fruit can be buried to grow a fruit tree - very good dinks and food source (when cooked)
The spot with lily pads - while lovely to look at is a spawn point for crocos
Over time the gum trees, blackwood trees and pine trees do self spawn in clumps
I have not seen this with palm wood trees (good idea to make a tree farm when you can)
good luck
the tree stumps i am not sure about 100% i think they don't respawn.
I hope they add seeds for everything and maybe we can buy them as well.
