Look I'm gonna keep it 100% real with you, you definitely not enjoy it solo like you would stardew. Like sure, the previews on the store page showcase a really nice looking city and and town and give you nice goals to have, but it is gonna be a really REALLY annoying and tedious to get to that point by yourself and farm all the stuff and place all the stuff by yourself. It's a fun game, but eh.

Thanks for the honesty. I'll take it into consideration.

as someone who loves stardew valley and similar games solo, i'm 3 hours into dinkum and others are right, its extremely grindy. You'll find yourself walking back and forth for little progression every day. That being said there are ways to make that more habitable, like planting your own fruit tree forest, taking a few extra tools with you, clearing out your pack before you go out, and grabbing a sleeping bag to take with you on longer trips.

I love Stardew Valley, it's probably my favourite game, but sometimes it stresses me out that you're under pressure from day one to plant crops, water them, plant more crops, do mining levels as fast as possible, all of that with one eye on the clock because you need to be in bed on time. In Dinkum, some days I just wander around without a clear goal and pick up resources as I come across them. Some days I go fishing for the whole day.

I have a solo and a multiplayer save and they're both fun.

Think closer to AC:NH (animal crossing new horizons) than Stardew in terms of playing solo. Don't forget to just have fun and do what you want you don't need to max out everything right away to still have fun.

I played Stardew to death and have done the same with Dinkum, I think about 250 hours something. Waiting on the update atm.

Grind and having to walk everywhere stops once you've progressed. Travel becomes very easy with jetski and helicopter and/or teleport. Once you've established your income stream, a big plantation of wattle is a good one, money becomes super easy (I still have $10m in bank after buying a helicopter for $3m), fancy tools become available and there's almost zero grind unless you choose to do so. The deep mine makes life very easy since you get lots of iron.

Money can be silly easy. Look for a particular boat on your map when it rains (after you're told about a shady character), get the hang glider - $400,000 when sold and so on.

Food is how hard you choose to make it. Initially I plant 12 trees of each fruit needed to make fruit salad and this is all I use until I start killing alphas for prime to make better food as I rotate a few crops of veggies. Using sugar and eggs, make pavlova with fruit salad and so on.

Building paths and stuff, or even bothering with keeping stuff neat isn't necessary and makes no difference to gameplay.

Importantly, you don't have to eat, you don't have to do anything if you don't want to. It's as relaxing or as difficult as you make it. An easy buy.
