Am it the only one that wants to Kill John for not being in his shop!

He doesn't start work till 8am, so if you get up right away you will have an hour till he goes to his shop. He only doesn't work on Sundays.

you can change the hours everyone works with a mod, but i agree otherwise :)

there are days he does nothing all day though but walk around maybe he is broken lol and not sundays only. seems he is never open when franklin comes the most important guy in game

Since they are wandering around randomly, sometimes it looks like the NPC gets stuck somewhere and is unable to find its way back. It'll eventually be able to come back (I've seen John and Irwin run back to and into their store as they were late). Worst case they'll be back in when you start a new day.

Oh yah, John is most assuredly on my "would kill if allowed" list. Not to fond of the banker either....

there are days the shop owners stand around outside of their shops but f you talk to them they despite all tend their shops even if they standing outside. I was confused by this in beginning too.

In my game John seems to stand knee deep in river water on his day off gazing at nothing in particular. You'd think he'd make better use of his minimal free leisure time by going fishing/hunting or something!

You can always look for the shady character with a bucket head if you need to sell hunted, fished or otherwise captured items on a Sunday. Bonus goodness is that you get extra dinks for finding him and selling.

the shady character is on rainy days when you have over 1 mil in bank. as for the bush ranger, i have found him in random places on map on any day.

Offer him to hang out with you. If he accepts, he will follow you everywhere you go. Arm yourself with a spear (he will arm himself too) and take him to the Wary Mu area. He will hit the birds when they come in range, too funny to watch! (unfortunately the birds cannot kill him, nor can he kill birds).

Lol. That's EXACTLY why I don't ask John to hang out with me. Not keen on stalkers!
I did ask him once, earlier in the game, but he said something like "I don't know you well enough", so I never bothered since!
