If you laptop if heating up it's more likely your laptop needs a clean or isn't upto scratch.
My wife plays this on her "laptop" and it runs fine
Thank you, I will try that.
The laptop is a thinkpad p1 Gen 4 with i9 processor and mobile 3080 RTX with 16gb vram. I play the game only when the laptop is on a table with sufficient airflow. The game needs to be optimized.
The game does get some rather gnarly fps drops from what I have been reading online.
The topic was making rounds a while ago, if ya curious (before this update).
Worse thing I deal with is textures not loading.
126hr of mp and never had that, have had the fps drop for afew seconds but it snaps straight back. No other problems at all :)
not to mention, any laptop will heat up while gaming ...

While I agree to your statement, It's easier to diagnose software related issues first, before jumping to extreme conclusions, such as tearing your laptop apart. This is furthered by someone inexperienced in the field.
The lack of details from OP sure doesn't really help either.
I think you need to step back and calm down. There is no need to blindly defend your position like a fanatic. I have a beefy laptop. Maybe you should have spent a few minutes to read my replies. I was asking the Developer and not you. And if you have critical reading skills you will understand that I was not blaming the game in fact I know it is the game.
If I may add my own experience to this -- 7 Days to Die is infamous case for me. On my old, absolute ♥♥♥♥ laptop, it ran perfectly fine. On newer, far better hardware, it chugs frames. No matter what settings, it won't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ run fine. "4 zombies on screen? Best I can do is 10 fps".
Sometimes I truly wonder what happened to optimization in games (L4D2 ran hundreds of zombies on screen, and not even a dent in fps. Sure graphics are a things, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.)
Edit for clarification: The swear words are for emphasis.
