How is the multiplayer?
I've been reading a lot of complaints about multiplayer. Would love to try out but we are reluctant cause of the multiplayer complaints.
We don't play these kind of games singleplayer.

I've only heard good things about MP

Its a SP game with Multiplayer similar to Animal Crossing but a bit more. If you want a mainly MP-Coop game this probably isnt the right game in the first place.

Complaints are mostly by people who didnt read the store page and the comments and seem to think this is a MP-Focus game - which it isnt because games like this never are.

Its still fun in MP aswell but if you want MP-Coop 100% you probably are looking for something else.

It's great for multiplayer, the only restriction is the guest player doesn't progress the story which is more or less the tutorial and can't place buildings but they will still be able to help you collect the materials as well as everything else.

Since money can be shared between players you can just choose who to host the game and focus on that save like I did with my partner and we are having a blast

Multiplayer is awesome. Like the others said Only host progress but that doesnt really matter.

Multiplayer is great. My friend says he maintains relationship progress with Villagers on his island, and he gets to keep his crafting recipes, inventory, and travel bag contents across worlds. We've run into a couple glitches--specifically, when you leave the host's world and come back, you don't keep your map markers, and the Museum may or may not have let him donate some things twice? But it's a good game for multiple people to play and get different things done at once.
I only play with a friend. Randoms can help or hurt you, like they could sell all your stuff or just take it, but you could always just reset the day to undo their damage.

Currently, I'm helping my friend repair some specialty equipment strewn across the map.

I love this game. I play it with my wife, and we help each other build our respective towns. First I'll help her for a few real-time days, then she'll come over to mine. We just played on mine last night and thanks to the relationship buildups I did on hers, I now have 3 more people wanting to move in! I don't have the cash or items to do them all though, but we managed to get 2 of the 3 in! Still got to pay the latest debt off though.

That said: The game does have bugs. Over time the villagers will not function quite right, and/or animals/bugs will be super rare. A simple restart of the game fixes these though.

What is important to you in Multiplayer really is what is known here. Multiplayer has some limitations. But there is a roadmap that adds more to it. If you want what animal crossing has to offer this game has that and then some. But it's not as vast as some other multiplayer games.

Damn that's unfortunate, we hoped we get a such a game with a great multiplayer where everybody has equal permissions in matters of building etc. Sadly no purchase from us.
Neverthless I understand the appeal for people knowing animal crossing anyway. However, I also don't think that audience is that big here on PC and it would have been amazing with a proper multiplayer.

To be clear, the game is still in early access, and those additions are absolutely on the roadmap and in progress. Right now, the game has just come out and a lot of unknown bugs are being found and fixed by the solo dev.

I'd suggest if you need those changes to buy, that you wishlist the game and check back in periodically to see if the features you're looking for have been added. They're definitely planned.

Will do. We hope multiplayer will be properly done with equal permissions.

I don think that this is that type of game. That would just cut content in half or worse. Its multiplayer is more similar to other farming-sims for obvious reasons.

There are far better games for MP coop - i think if MP is fored to much it would actually ruin this game.

Multiplayer is properly done, for this type of game. Just because it isn't what you expected doesn't mean it isn't "proper". Been having a blast with my partner.

Ok, will wait until its properly done for PC players. You and your partner can speak and decide together where to build stuff. We as a bunch of people don't want that one guy has sole power of everything and the rest are slaves. Simple as that.

Again, it's not that type of game. The game holds like 4 people max. You want the game to be something that it isn't. The devs didn't lose a sell because it was never advertised for you. And from the looks of things, they are doing fine. It's cute that you think your voice matters this much.
