AC is better at customization and cloths. Dinkum is better overall but is early acess yet, soo...might be better
In this game you can:
-hunt and trap
-there are no 'talking cartoon animal' NPCs
-it is based on Australian like environments, terminology, food, etc. (which alone makes it more enticing to me than AC every seemed)
-there are aggressive animals; just a few (like crocs), but you can easily avoid them
-you can raise animals like chooks (chickens)
Both games let you fish, collect bugs, have different NPCs you need to entice to live in your town, treasure hunt (although in this game it is a bit more developed), have unique vehicles, cook, farm (this game has more developed farming), craft (again, this game has more developed crafting).
There are enough differences between the two that a person could probably play both and enjoy both without feeling same-same.
But I prefer Dinkum for the extra stuff it offers and the fact it is a bit more 'real' (I would rather raise chickens than have to buy clothes from a talking one).
And don't forget Dinkum is in EA so who knows what else might be added in the future as it develops.
I think the dev has encompassed all the good bits from similar games and put them in Dinkum.
One thing to remember, AC is one save per console, Dinkum you can have 99 saves
I mean, it is set in Australia.....
