Mangrove and Bottle tree seeds?

These don't seem to drop seeds when I chop 'em down. Is there something I'm missing or are these just non-renewable by design?

Looks like it so far. So the game is making you run across the map or however far you need to go to get it.

For Bottle Tree they are just hardwood so not a big deal, though decoratively pretty cool.
Mangrove is unique though. Im not sure I could possibly use all the mangrove sticks on the map. Ive also not paid attention to whether they just natrualy sprout up on the mud. They might.

You get so many Mangrove sticks per tree I don't really see the need to be able to farm them. If we could farm them it would pose a unique problem since you would have to plant them on 'coastline' which might be the reason, come to think about it, that we cannot farm them.

And as @Rhaane said the Bottle is just a different model for hardwood which we can already farm.

I have not tested it myself but someone wrote on another thread that you can pick up mud (mangrove biome dirt) with a shovel and place it near your town so it can spawn mangrove trees.
May be worth a try.

Ah I got bottle tree and bottle brush confused. Whenever I want the bottle brush flower I have to run all the way to a pine forest biome.

I found a trick to making my own mangrove farm.
There are no seeds but they grow from the mud.
Get a scoop of mud and plop it down somewhere next to where you want to start your farm.
Don't place it in your farm so to say because you're going to keep digging it up.
I made mine next to water just in case.
Get your first scoop of mud from that and the ground underneath will turn into a infinite source of mud.
Now make your farm as large as you want and the day after I did this I had mangrove trees growing on my farm.
This was helpful to me because the nearest mangroves were a bit of a ways away from me.
Hope this helps all you dinkers out.

When you chop the bush down if fully grown it should drop bottle push seeds and you plant them as normal by digging a hole and dropping it in then covering it.

confirmed, i grew two today, took ages to transfer the mud, and only two grew....but grew they did

For mangrove they grow wildly on their own like a bush. Bottle Bush is the same thing, takes the proper soil and it just grows wildly on its own. Like wise Ore is the same way, but you need to be careful with the ore soil as it seems to be it can not be spread. So it's possible to lose all your ore locations.

Pfft its my own fault for not trying to axe down the bushes. Actually I swore I tried and I guess the axe didn't connect. And I just moved on instead of trying again.

All you need is a single piece of mud to start this process. Pick it up with your shovel and go back to where you want to grow mangrove trees. Once you put that mud on top of another tile, that tile will also turn into mud.
