Best way to get money is via deep mining

You can sell rubies for at least 50k to 90k based on weight. You can also find multiple ones per run although you have to pick them up 1by1 and drop it in the elevator. Once you collected all the rubies you found, then press the lever to go up. Crocodile tooth sell for a lot as well, flame sac can be crafted to flaming bat and can be sold as well 15k+. Then you can find treasure halls that can be opened with old key that sometimes drop iron weapons that can also be sold for huge chunks of money.

I've found four paragliders that go for 400k each in the chests

I've been in mines 7 times from the 9am till midnight and I've never found a single ruby. Bad luck and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG maybe? And chests had only slingshots and ugly furniture.

I'd rather spend that time with metal detector and get 200-300k, which is way easier and without annoying bats every two steps.

For the rubies - it might be more than bad luck. You might just be missing them as you run by. They look a lot like a normal basic 1-high stone but have a little red crystal sticking out the side and don't glow or anything. You kinda have to pan camera around and examine all the stones as you cruise by.

I havent been going into the mines for money. Just ores and treasure rooms.

Fishing can get you 200k or more per day....autumn is very profitable

I spent 12 minutes in a mine and didn't come across a single ruby. Got a few crocs in cages and a fossil, but not one ruby and not even 50 iron ore. I just reset the day to avoid the durability hit on my tools and reduction in food. Sometimes you get a terrible mine map and it's often better to just reset the day.

In my experience, rubies are found closer to the elevator, so just explore in circle and expand in radius. Don't go in 1 direction until you hit the map limit because you are less likely to find ruby that way.

There are far better, safer, and more lucrative ways of making money outside the mine than in that don't rely on luck.

plant 100 of each of the wattle and bottle brush flowers and get about 20 kegs, you can make 100K passively every couple of days and then if you want more than that you can just go around digging up the junk and selling it. Those two things combined are way better than doing ruby runs in the deep mine. I only go into the mines for mass ore collecting.

This might be game breaking, but if you have franklyn in your town, and you are able to get the motorcycle, you can take it down into the mine and for the most part not having to deal with the beasts down there, not to mention it has it's own light source and a place to put rubies and fossils on the back so you dont have to carry them to the elevator. While you are on the bike, the animals ignore you. just make sure to break it down and take it out at the end or you'll lose it cause the mine resets. I've heard using the wheelbarrow is similar.

best way to make money is fishing, no competition. just look for ted sally and mark him on the map. he'll even be there at late night to sell for +50% vallue
then go fishing in north sea. baraccuda 16k each (24k at ted) and tuna for 24k (36k at ted)
so you'll make 900k to 1mil per inventory dump

think of it this way, how long does it take to find a ruby? and how long does it take to catch 3 baracudda? i can easily catch 3 or more per minute

I have a mining helmet, but it has no charge. I assume since a mining helmet with a light exists, I need a light in the mines. I have a torch, but I can't hold it and fight, which seems fraught with peril.

In order to charge my mining helmet, I need a charging station, which takes an ungodly amount of iron. So I am stuck in a grind running around hitting every rock I can find trying to get shiny stones which might give me enough iron to get the charging table which will allow me to charge my mining helmet.

I am probably missing something but I don't know what.

Just put the torch on the ground and do your mining/fighting. After you're done, you can pick it up again. Rinse and repeat.

Deep Mining is less effort, but you could get more out of farming. Your only limit is time. Placing sprinklers would lower the stamina cost. So really would only need enough food for planting time.
