So far worked great and used like 20 times today. But 2 times the game froze and did not recover, both times it was close to midnight and I had to redo the whole day.
For now I won't pause after 8pm ingame time, it seems to risk a full freeze + crash.
The table for Dinkum on WeMod (which is free and doesn't bug you when using it about paying for the pro features) works fine. I have used a table on Cheat Engine which does work for pausing time, but WeMod is easier to use. There's a setting on the WeMod table for pausing the game and you can enable and disable the setting while in the game (it's the Numpad 0 key). I haven't had any crashes using it. Pausing the game isn't cheating, but there are other settings that could be seen as cheating and you can just ignore them (not enable them) if you're worried about it ruining the gameplay.
You should look for existing posts in the future as I've probably answered this more than once myself and I imagine there are others who did too, but you can only pause in singleplayer (even if you are playing alone in multiplayer it doesnt let you pause) and you must sleep the first night and reload your save for the pause button to appear.
