I thought I must have missed something and I was asking a dumb question.
The z-hotkey only changes the angle of view and doesn't allow me to follow the character. I have to use the camera every time I move.
Reading the reviews I thought this game was like Stardew Valley where I would run on a flat map and be able to view items as I progressed.
I have to run around and constantly move the camera to see where I'm going in this game.
Do you have "mouse always moves camera" selected? I found that far easier than the middle mouse/shift option.
Yes I did watch the videos and they give no indication of the style of game play. Actually, the only impression they gave me was that this game is similar or almost the same as Stardew Valley.
Unfortunately I find it extremely annoying trying to navigate in this game. Also, I find it hard to believe all the positive reviews and yet not one review mentioned the terrible camera position.
I'll be seeking a refund and I'll give the game a true review.
as @boxinabox pointed out under Settings you can change the camera to "mouse always moves camera". i am playing without.
& btw, the whole game IS ACTUALLY in 3rd person. i play to 99% third person games.
you mean maybe an isometric view ? but maybe you're just not accustomed to that sort of an exploration game, you managed to play only 12 minutes, so yeah ...
yes, the gameplay of Dinkum is indeed very similar to Stardew Valley but the appearance surely not. & Dinkum's world is more realistic in general, eg i like that the animals don't just wait to attack me, but have different kind of interaction depending on type. this makes the world a lively one.
Dinkum deserves so far all the praise it gets, that's for a change, since Early Access games have meantime a really bad rep & not unfounded.
aahh.
The camera is not in 3rd person!
And it's nothing like Stardew Valley. Not even close.
Exactly what is your definition of 3rd person?
It's called Google. Try it. It will tell you how a 3rd person game works.
The camera does not follow the player around it stays static and you have to move it physically.
Good luck in life bro.
