Allowing admin commands for an Animal Crossing type of game like this is ridiculous.

Many people are admin commanding heaps of cash, license currency, unlocking all recipes, and objective completions, essentially just speeding up how fast they can get straight to decorating and terraforming magnificent towns in the shortest time frame then posting pics of their towns as if it was genuine. Yes, it still takes plenty of time to make a sweet town, but it takes MUCH more time to do it organically and you essentially lose all credibility in my book.

This is unfortunate, because some people really worked hard on their town design and want to show off their builds they worked for and feel like they are worthy, but now we don't know who is legit or who cheated, especially if the game is coming to consoles. Animal Crossing would never pull such a move as it would kill their brand. Skepticism will devalue sharing any accomplishments as long as admin commands exist. Plenty of games out there that let you buff your experience like Kenshi. Why are we cheating a farming town life sim to flex on others? So lame.

But she straight lied in her business.

There's another Australian photographer who claimed that his moon photo was real despite the clouds literally being behind the moon.

I wonder how these people here would defend someone just jacking another person's content, adding a bit and then claiming the whole thing is original.

I got your point, but to me what you're talking about is just basic dishonesty. Someone that unlocks everything with console commands and builds a cool looking village but then tries to pass it off as something they earned through regular game play is still showing a streak of basic dishonesty. It may be a matter of degree, but it's still no different from being a plagiarist, tax cheat, or any other fraudster. You can dress it up all you like or say it doesn't matter because it's just a game, but it still shows an underlying willingness to cheat to benefit yourself. It also diminishes anything you accomplish because you had to cheat to get there, whether anyone but you knows it or not.

You're a judgmental person then. Congrats. You wont stop people from enjoying what they want to do on their own time. Have fun with a lifestyle like that.

Basic? That's super dishonest. People get sued over digital content misrepresentation.

Meh, that's true, but in a single player game where you keep your content to yourself, I don't have issues with people playing how they want to play. At the end of the day, if you're doing it for your own enjoyment, it's hard for me to care what you do or how you do it in the game. Live your life man, just don't be dishonest to others about it. Sure, it devalues their accomplishments, but if they don't care, it's their prerogative. Again, if someone wants to use dev commands to their heart's content in their own game and don't go dishonestly hawking their creations as if they were genuine, more power to them. My issue has always been digital content creation fraud and misrepresentation when it comes to non-personal use.

I straddle the line between you and the rest of the people here. They don't seem understand or care about digital content creation fraud and misrepresentation and I'm with you on that 100%, but when it comes to playing the game on their own terms without pushing their content into the rest of the world, I gotta side with them on that.

One last thing:

If you're using developer commands to help find things in the game that are bugged to then help the developer fix them, then I commend you as you are doing great work. He's one guy, he can use all the help he can get. So I applaud people using those to make the game run smoother, crash free, and otherwise bug free.

Totally disagree with you. Honesty is in fact a lifestyle, because ethics are not situational and should not be treated as if they are. if you cheat one place you will cheat someplace else, it's just a matter of degree and justifying it in your own mind.

As for your other comment, I'm almost to retirement so i know full well how tough life can be. I also know I'll never be a CFO, but I'm more than content being a senior accountant that get's nice bonuses every time we get through yet another tax audit without having to pay any fines or penalties. More to the point, i don't have to cheat or make the numbers dance to achieve that outcome. All it takes is being honest, following the rules, and a willingness to tell the sales executives no on an almost daily basis.

That is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Hitting motherload a couple times so I can make a nice house in Sims doesn't mean I'm going to cheat on my taxes. What even is this?

I'm a modder. I've already obtained all texture files and look forward to creating new and interesting items, textures, animals, etc. Play the game how you decide and what makes you happy. I have a guide uploaded here with *SPOILER* all catalog clothing items available, tools, etc. but just for people to see what is available. It's to help others out, not to spoil the fun. Anytime a game is released onto PC especially during beta testing is a goldmine to take apart and dissect. I did the same with Fallout, just have fun doing what you do :)
