Trapped Animal Drop Off
I hope improvements are made for a better drop off for trapped animals... the traps always seem to get caught on the wall of the drop off resulting in the animals breaking free... and if they are hostile... it just seems really annoying.

Also as I was wrangling a Diggo, I placed the trap on the drop off, trap once again gets caught on the wall of the drop off, Diggo breaks free, but when it does, it Duped itself, so now I had 2 diggos to handle. -_- lol

Have you tried weakening them, if you get their health below 30% they won't fight and break out of the traps. So i've been told, I don't bother trapping the critters.

Doesn't matter if they are weak or not, in my case, if you accidentally drop the trap on the wall, the trap opens resulting in the release of the animal. Pain in the backside if the animal is hostile, which is the case more often then not! LOL Seems placement is rather exact and if the trap touches the wall (usually on top), it opens up and frees whatever animal you might have in it. I've also had this happen several times so have tried to be very careful on placing the loaded trap to be collected. Guess there is some sort of sweet spot? (edit: I use mouse and keyboard)

I just thought they were fighting and breaking out, maybe this was happening to me too, I just stopped bothering to do it. I thought the stronger traps would keep them trapped but - nope. Don't see the point really.

I have this same issue. No matter how carefully I line myself up to the drop point, I still manage to get the trap on the wall, and not in the drop point. This does duplicate the animals as well. At least the animals duplicate with the same health, so if I knock a croc down to almost nothing, two almost dead crocs come out. I guess it's a good exploit if you needed to farm a lot of croc meat, I guess.

since i trap atm many crocs, so horror stories like that made me to place the cage extremely carefully. so to speak better safe than sorry. i had only once manage to drop a cage on the wall, fortunately it was only a magpie.

I like the aggressive ones. If they manage to bust out I just grab my cage, walk a very shirt distance, set it and watch them immediately get back in it.

Use A on the controller to drop the trap. X releases the animal. I've never EVER had a trap break open after catching a creature. I don't know what the buttons are on the keyboard for those. I HAVE gotten a gator in a simple trap stuck on clover's head since she walked in front of me and I talked to her AND set the trap down at the same time in front of my collection point. Had to jump up and grab the trap out of the air to fix it.

I have had this happen as well. Even when I am trying to be completely anal about where I am standing and lining it up. He should just take the walls off and have a flat platform, it is annoying when they break out.

@JU1173. Good suggestion, I've had this issue as well and now am very careful when delivering a trapped animal

I think its good as it is - it shouldnt be to easy otherwise it would be a completely pointless task.

Even if it breaks just take the cage and catch the animal again.

Also if you still want it easier - just a tip drop it in from the side - just run against the side and drop it in.

But honestly - things shouldnt be to easy otherwise those tasks become just a boring chore.

The animal drop off point feels like the worst problem of the game for me. @JU1173, that would be a workable fix or we could just step up on the platform and have the balloon auto take the cage out of the players hands for them with no need to toss anything.

Is/Are the dev(s) looking into altering possibly altering this for us uncoordinated cage tossers?

Happy hunting

The challenge should be in damaging the animal down to the point where it stays in the trap. Not lining it up perfectly to ship it.

I had trouble at first too, but it didn't take long to get used to dropping it over the right spot. It's similar to farming-if you aren't lined up just right you're going to miss your target.

yeah, but you don't see it lined up with the drop off & the risk of or damage caused by missing the spot is significantly higher than with farming

i am always trying to stand parallel & not somehow slant to the walls & i step onto the edge of the drop off

You can also drop it on the scale at John`s Shop.
