It's all part of the progression. Early in the game you have to make a lot of choices on what you do with your time. Later on there is still some choices, but that time can stretch a little further due to vehicles, mounts, and power tools. Time in this game is a commodity. Personally feel like the timing is right, but then again I played, and replayed multiple times now to where I know how to best optimize my time. It could possibly use some adjustments.
Sounds like you need better time management. Don't put so much stress on one day. Spread it out. Not going anywhere.
Yeah definitely understandable. I feel I am playing this game entirely wrong, going at it like a Minecraft aspect. The problem is I don't yet fully understand the game mechanics so half of my time is probably just working around that. Has a good Wiki been developed yet outlining everything in the game? That would be super helpful.
Sorry I don't got much information on a wiki :( But I understand the difficulty getting a grip on how to play the game. It's a bit of a genre-bending game. It plays alot like Animal Crossing but has a fair amount of survival aspects. The timer is like a harvest moon thing though. I think it's just something that with time you will adjust to.
As far as how to better know about game mechanics, there are a few pretty good guides on Steam for this that have similar content to what's on the Fandom Wiki. This way you can get a feeling for what's there without dealing with the advertisements.
1-water plants and harvest any that are ready
2-run the half screen into town and talk to everybody and see if they have any jobs for me. Sell anything i picked up that i don't need for something else.
3- head out to complete jobs, catching bugs, harvesting fruit trees and mining along the way. If i get it done quick go fishing, hunting or look for more to mine.
4- head back to town around 4 pm, turn in jobs and sell stuff
5-go home and spend the evening cooking/smelting/making tools until i run out of things that need doing.
6-sleep
Most days i'm done by with everything between 8-9pm, so no, i don't think time goes too fast.
We expect to do hard things first, and then come home and do chores and relax.
In Dinkum, you go sell things first while the shops are open. Then do daytime quests, either things that only appear during the day, or things for which daylight is very helpful (fishing, especially). Non-time-sensitive stuff, especially the three daily quests, can be done later, and then after the shops are closed you can do any building, crafting, planting, watering, harvesting, etc.
There is no limit to how long a day is. Once it hits midnight, it just shifts to "late" and you stop recovering stamina normally, and things cost more stamina. You also walk slowly whenever your stamina isn't full. This isn't actually a big deal... it just means you need more stamina-rich foods. The easiest are limes and cactus fruits. Cooked, a couple of trees/cacti worth of those can get you a full-inventory fishing trip no problem, even if you start once it's already "late".
If the stores are closed, and your pockets are full, no problem! Bugs are easily stacked, two high per tile, near the store, and easily picked up and sold en mass in the morning. Fish are more troublesome, as they don't stack and take two tiles, but still not impossible. Still, usually I fish as my last inventory-dependent activity in a day, either devoting a full day to it for two full-inventory fishing runs (worth 60k or so), or fishing at night as my last thing.
Check out the Guides section here. There's tons of great info there, including some very thorough walkthrough of all major game mechanics. This is shaping up to be a Steam Guides game, not a Wiki game.
Don't forget, you can run out the entire day with no penalty. Once the clock hits midnight, it just changes to LATE. Your stamina bar is gone, but you can do anything that doesn't require stamina. I use this time to cook any meals I need, cook all fruit or meat, smelt all my ores, crush all my rocks, refill kegs and grinders, all that kind of stuff. Cooked fruit and meat, and meals sell for more than their raw ingredients, so the next morning I sell it all.
and yes i agree it goes too fast
works well
There is a wiki! And the discord community is quite helpful too :)
