Farming frustration

Just unlocked sprinklers and water tanks. Anyone else hate that water tanks are 2x2 and sprinklers are one block and do a 3x3 area. No way to make it look nice. How do other people set theirs up?

Remember that a water tank covers a range of 10 from it and you also get advanced sprinkles that do a 5x5 area with a license upgrade at level 2 irrigation.

Get Adv Sprinklers they do 5x5, and then start farming for Gears and Springs because you won't have enough... ever.

yeah but that still doesn't solve the odd vs even thing where you can't make it look lined up

The area of effect of the advanced sprinklers goes beyond that of the area of effect of the water tank when you grid the sprinklers properly.

a 5x5 grid of advanced sprinklers (taking into account the proper spacing between sprinklers themselves) and placing the water tank where the center sprinkler would be thus removing the center sprinkler from the 5x5 grid of sprinklers, puts the sprinklers at the edges of the '10 tiles out' description for the water tank.

MIND you the advanced sprinklers have an area of effect 5x5 TILES... when i say 5x5 GRID OF SPRINKLERS, IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL TILES.

Multiple 5x5 grids of advanced sprinklers butted against each other (sides of sprinkler grids touching) the sprinklers overlap (their area of effect, in other words just make a perfect grid of sprinklers taking into account the sprinklers area of effect and dont worry about the water tanks area of effect) at the edges.

ok i see what you mean. so two 5x5 sprinkler grids would be 10 blocks on one side and could have one water tank placed in the center of the line which would reach both grids. ill have to do some experimenting. thanks

you misunderstand what i mean by sprinkler grid. 1 sprinkler uses a 5x5 GRID OF TILES... im saying a 'GRID OF SPRINKLERS'. MULTIPLE sprinklers ALSO in a 5x5 grid itself. the 5x5 TILES of 1 sprinkler exploded out to a 5x5 GRID OF SPRINKLERS. 25x25 TILES.

1 sprinkler uses 25 total tiles BY ITSELF 5x5 tiles (Grid of Tiles)
a 5x5 GRID OF SPRINKLERS using 625 total tiles 25x25 tiles (Grid of Sprinklers)
