KATANA KAMI: A Way of the Samurai Story

When does Katana Kami "open up?"
Just cleared 10th floor dungeon boss (annoying cat thing, thank god block worked against it) and still paying off debt by aggressively calling the collector ahead of time.

When does the new features/sword selling/stuff start?

Do I really have to pay off the debt first?

Early 4-7 days is when the new features start opens up. The basic selling/enhancing/merchant . Kind of a slog if you want to jump ahead in the dungeon.

The hardest part is getting the beginning sword. To be fair though, for the longest time, my sharpness is at 130-140 for all 20F. It's not hard to get that much. Not to mention you can get a title after 300 kill that gives +50 Sharpness.

Paying the debt does unlock new better things; especially the storage upgrade, and more.

As for paying the debt, there is a.. rather easy way I found out; honestly, in the end I don't recommend this because it is abuseable (or just do it, you paid for the product anyway) - just kill the ghost Player with multiplayer off. With a decent sword, it should be easy (AI, not actual player after all); and most of them drop insane end game swords (rank7, etc).

When you deliver sword for the order, the higher durability = more money; However, the important part that I missed initially is that, it must be at FULL durability for full value.

The higher current durability (not just high max value) the more expensive it becomes.

Those end game sword dropped by those ghost? after a few upgrade and repair, they sell for like 30-50k. And that's just a few upgrades done (4-6 I think, with good result) on durability.

I have tons of them and well; it kind of breaks the pacing if you rely on that tbh. The positive note is that, you get tons of good accessory (like purse or cage) or good rank 5-7 regular sword (nice!) if you use those ghost. Those are always helpful.

If you want to go legit, at the 20F, there is a good guaranteed sword reward. repeatable. After 4-6 upgrade for durability, it can fetch 10K.

That with all the sword you get in the dungeon, makes the whole debt less scary that it appears to be.

You are a god! A true Katana Kami sword saint.
I will redouble my efforts to promote capitalism and sell swords with Dojima as the lord of war.

Just hit day 7 and a few of the leaders showed up along with Dona-Dona right after reading this and grinding two more days (was on day 5 at time of post).

Huzzah, my 3 swords (iato, up and side) are around 50-60 sharpness already, so guess I am on the right track.

Yeah, you are on the right track. It seems hard and repetitive, but the game have a lot of depth in it.

My only gripe is how slow it is to open up if you don't know how to make money (or know the easy way to) - and it is sluggish with upgrades (materials, etc), and how it is hard to get the sword you want until dojima has higher skill (i mean, if you want them to be rank 5-6). So you ended up with random drops most of the time.

Not that it is bad, just that it'd be nice to have it available early so we can enjoy different swords set. After all, there is little point to keep low quality weapons eventually.

Not to mention some story about the blacksmith which i always screwed up in dialogue choice. This game created with WoTS in mind but with different package. And as with WoTS game since 4 some true story advancement need a certain condition

Well I had my big bonanza sale day, got my 170-180 dmg swords and like 3k away from rescuing the daughter. This is game is pretty amazing. Starts slow and that may have turned a lot off, but holy crap, this def is a way of the samurai game.

Still want a proper "V" tho, hopefully leveraging this whole helping Dojima run a business (in addition to still getting a dojo - damn, I am going to reinstall IV.)
