you jsut remove a tile of the ground which will then suck out the oxygen.
just let a worker near it to build it again once the fire is extinguished.

build either standard floor or build room / wall on it again

If this is the only way to put out a fire this game is getting uninstalled and put on garbage game list. I don't understand why they refuse to address this issue. This isn't a fun mechanic or wanted mechanic, I'm not the only one complaining about fire ruining the game.

Here's a post from NASA:
"If a fire were to occur on the ISS, the astronauts would become firemen and follow a three-step response system. First, they would turn off the ventilation system to slow the spread of fire. Next they would shut off power to the effected unit. Finally astronauts would use fire extinguishers to put out the flames."

Wow fire extinguishers work in space?! Who knew?!

The devs have adressed this, they're working on it.

Also in case you haven't noticed: the game has multiple serious issues, they won't fix everything all at once. For me personally fire is all the way down on the priority list. They happen like once or twice, if at all, before everyone that's supposed to do maintenance has a bit of engineer skill.

Fires are annoying, yes, but only if they manage to happen in the room with your Main AI. Just don't put anything in there that will set on fire. Every other room that could be a hazard, give it a vent or two on the outside. Better yet, let the room remain a vacuum. My water purifiers and batteries are in the same vacuumed room just in case.

And it's just 2 people working on this as stated when starting the game. Give them some time and I'm very optimistic they'll take care of all major issues.
