Odd Rhythm implementation? Help a Guitarist Out Here
Guitarist of 19 years here.

I love me a rhythm game as much as the next guy, but there's something real off about how rhythm works in this game. It feels as if you *must* kill on the down beat, and you can't kill any other way. It's really, really ♥♥♥ annoying. It feels as if killing in this game, is locked to a 4/4 time signature. The thing is, most metal isn't played in 4/4. Most metal makes use of odd time signatures, more often than not.

Don't get me wrong, I've drilled the ability to play to a click track into my brain as if it's second nature, but this game feels off, and not in a good way. I can't exactly put it into words, but I know with the experience I have as a guitarist, that this game, whilst a great concept, missed something in the execution.

Am I alone in feeling like this?

Whole reason I skipped BPM. Rhythm shooter sounds cool on paper but when they all keep the same time signature.... and if you can't use different ones with a personal playlist then what's the point in playing it. Honestly. It gets boring so fast because you just go on complete autopilot and without any sort of tech or depth to really dig into the whole thing just falls apart into stale repetition with no payoff.

That's the thing though. This game would've been wholly more playable if it didn't force you to shoot, or kill on the 1, or down beat, but any beat, so long as the shot or kill was on that beat.

Believe it or not, I can hold my own just fine as a drummer. It's not difficult to hold down a straight 4/4, with the odd fill.

I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about music except what staves and cleffs and notes look like, but I was hoping the timing would change every song instead of just being the same, I'll still grab it because it's righteous but that sounds like a shame

It's stupid. The game sticks to a 4/4 time signature and you have to shoot/kill on the 1 beat. It'd be far more beneficial to frag on any beat so long as it's not off tempo.

The 4/4 (more like 4/8) thing is a bit annoying, but you do not have to kill on the 1. I'm watching a stream right now and dude is playing real well, he's been getting kills on all 4 counts, not just the 1.

Also, if you meant the executions, yes those are only on a downbeat. But you can shoot a demon which is ready for execution at any time, completely off beat even, and it will die. You just won't get the execution.
