Jumping issues

Have they deliberately made it so that you have to alternate between space and the arrow buttons to jump in a certain direction? Because if i try to press and hold them at the same time before release, my character will jump up half of the time instead of the direction i want.

Nope, this sounds like a keyboard issue on your end. Maybe get an input monitoring software and see if it claims the keys are not pressed at any point while you hold them down.

You're saying if you press and hold both of the directions at the same time, you'll jump straight up? I think that's working as intended, honestly. Only hold one single key in the direction you want to jump to jump in that direction, not both keys at the same time.

No, i'm saying if i hold space bar and the direction i want to jump in, my character jumps up half of the time instead of the direction i want.

I have to ask as this is not a game issue unless something messed up the files. When you release space bar, do you release the arrow key at the same time by habit? If so you may be cancelling the direction. Try just holding the left/right arrow key until you are in the air
