Hi,

currently I know two ways. Breeding and diplomacy if a foreign tribe is visiting. For diplomacy, a tribe member must be assigned to diplomacy as shown by the tutorial. For breeding I don't know if there's anything special to do or if it simply happens :D

Regards

I think it is just random. I started with 5 people (3 women and 2 men) and 1 lady already had 1 kid so far and is pregnant again, the second lady just became pregnant and I have tried recruiting 5 people and 3 of them joined so my little 5 person tribe is almost up to 10 in the first year. It is now a constant search for food just to feed them, as soon as the Alpacas are all hunted and the bone spears are crafted I am sending them after the 2 woolly mammoths that keep hanging around my village and hopefully that feeds them for awhile.

Not sure if the number of folks with diplomacy impact the number of people that keep showing up wishing to join, but I usually get three at a time while keeping the number of tribal members with the diplomacy skill at three or two. I doubt it is random, simply based on the type of game this is, but it will take several playthroughs to figure out the math/concepts behind it. Probably ditto for the breeding - you probably need certain conditions in place like indoor bedding and meat on the menu.

Nope, don't need meat or extra beds, boy+girl <~40-45? = baby.
Tribes seem random after ~100hrs, sometimes one, often 2-3 up to 5 at least, maybe 6.
You can have 100 people with diplomacy and you will get same amount.
I have noticed that some areas are much better for them though, some areas you will NEVER get people coming through, especially on islands.

I did not have the knowledge to butcher or cook meat when the first lady got pregnant so meat on the menu was not a requirement. It was just my second day when she got pregnant so my tribe was not very smart and had very limited resources that is why I thought it must be a random thing because I played the demo 5 times and never had anyone get pregnant and now I suddenly have 1 lady on her second pregnancy and the other female tribe member pregnant plus 3 roaming people have joined the tribe and I only have one guy set to diplomacy because the others are all needed to do other things since each person can only have 6 jobs max.

Looking at the games code around visiting tribes, there is actually some lines regarding having food stored & a campfire. So these defo increase the chances.

It would suit my way of growing a settlement to be able to select individuals, and not have to take an entire band.

So it's safe to have fires indoors then. I assumed straw hut and fire would be a bad time.

I have built up around my campfires and have noticed the number going down.
So yeah, next time I'm on, "the beacons of ministrith have been lit"
I'm right next too a hill. We'll see how that goes.

Anyone know if there is acually a softcap at 80-100 sapiens? Whenever i get to about 90 saps i get very few visits and just about only one baby born every 1-2 years.
I've heard rumors of a softcap on Saps but it could also be other reasons like some variable or data overload cuasing some bug.
Any info on this? I'm not using any mods.
