Should i always go for the ultimate class
In langrisser 1 , narm should be a dragon rider but it looks like there one more "ultimate" class, should i go for that or stay dragon rider? Cause final class will be more OP? Like jesicca, should be a mage but only the class"sage" can lead to the 4th class as well.

better go with class that have AOE nuke and use it to unlock the rest

Just go with what you like. This remake is so easy, you could probably finish it without problems with everyone at their rank 2 class.

Also , after a while you will have all classes unlocked for everyone anyway. Especially if you plan to do all the different routes.

What? How did you manage that? If I backtrack, the enemies barely give any XP and I can only rely on MVP CP.

Ultimate class is always the strongest one. Only reason you'd pick a different one is for different unit type or better mercenary count. In Narm's example, she gets very few troops as her ultimate class and no character has a flier as an ultimate class in Langrisser 1 so you may wish for her to be a flier instead.

So while on paper the ultimate class may be the strongest, there are situations where another may be more useful.

I got everyone to level 40 with just playing the different routes in Langrisser 1.
You mainly redo the late level stages that still give decent exp.
Also from magic and buffs and so on.

There are achievements for unlocking all classes for Ledin and Elwin and they have the most of all characters.
If you can do it for them, you can do it for everyone.

How would you unlock all classes for everyone??
You need 140 CP for ultimate class (20+30+40+50).
And you need 125 CP to unlock all other classes (1x10 + 2x15 + 3x20 + 1x25).

That means just for ultimate class you need level 29, to unlock all you need level 54 with all characters (minus CP level clear boni).

I only played the demo so far, but considering that the Swordmaster guy (Level 20) didn't level up even once, most likely because he was too high level compared to the enemies, it is likely that the same happens even in the endgame once a character reaches around level 35-40.

Even if everyone where to reach level 40 with excessive grind, they would still need another 70 CP = 35 ?? level clear boni per character.

Ok, after looking at my save, most chara are at level 42-43 after finishing all 8 routes in Langrisser 1.

And there are a few who still have to unlock a class here and there.
But my point still stands, that was with minimal grinding and just playing all the routes.
And yes, you have to abuse 2 things, mass kills with spells or breath attacks for dragon riders
and MVP status. It gives 5 points in the later half and if you kill all enemy troops and then the commander + use spells/buffing any time you have the options you earn quiet a bit of exp even if the individual amount is not that high.

Also Volkoff ( the sword guy) not leveling up and barely getting exp is because that was the same for him in the original games and has a story reason.
But that would be a spoiler. His exp gains is vastly reduced compared to other charas.

There are also some stages where you can really easily farm exp.
For example last stage route A or B. You start right next to 2 groups of vampire lords with ballista.
Place your mages right and left of them, nuke the whole group with spells in turn 1, raise 1-2 level for the mages, go back to the map select screen, restart the stage again, repeat.
You keep all exp that you earned.
Do that without hiring mercenaries so you dont lose money.
I got all my mages to full class unlock in like 20 minutes like that.

And there are a few other stages with spots like that, not that you need it anyway, as easy as these remakes are.

Thanks, so it is really possible.

I didn't know that that guy had reduced XP gains (though I do know the story reason, did play Warsong on a genesis emu back in 2002 and Langrisser on a SNES emu in 2007, neither of those games ever made it to Germany up till now).
Ogami Mar 16, 2020 @ 10:37am
In Warsong he did not get exp at all, he was "maxed" out, including the exp bar.
Technically you could get him to a level up here but its difficult in the stages that you have available.

And yea, i imported Warsong from the US to Germany in the early 90s.
And later the remake for Sega Saturn that included 1+2 like this version.

I maxed out Ledin and Elwin's classes just getting them mvp over and over. It's tedious but not very hard.

damn dude you're really hardcore. why did you need to farm so many levels? Ledin was 40 for me, and all the rest lower 30s with all routes completed
Makkenhoff Mar 17, 2020 @ 7:56am
The 4th class originally, was a secret class route. You could finish the original without ever discovering them. (I know I did) Ledin was a grand knight in my game. I had pretty much everyone else as a magic knight, because I was obsessed with them. haha

As for this version, the secret routes do tend to have more powerful unlocks, but sometimes you'll want to unlock others for units/skills. Unlocking Ranger for example.
