I used to play a game back in the old console day called Warsong...by Koei I believe. This sure looks similar. Anyone out there played both?

It looks similar because its the same game.
"Warsong" was the localized name for the first Langrisser on Sega Mega Drive/Genesis when it was published in the west.

After that they did not translate any more of them but in Japan the series continued for many years after.

This game is a remake of Langrisser 1+2 in one package.
