I'm not sure about the second game yet.
But this remake MASSIVELY extended on that.
The game now has about 65 different scenarios and 13 route splits/ different endings.
In a single playthrough you will still only see about 20 stages in a row but with the Story Tree you can jump back to levels where the story split and then follow that other part.
If you want to see and clear everything you need to play about 65 stages.
The SNES and later versions of Langrisser 2 aka "Der Langrisser" had always those different paths and endings. About 60 stages overall. So this version does too.
The route system is one of the coolest feature in the Langrisser franchise, you can for example switch sides in the middle of the story and join the empire or even the demons.
There is a lot to discover there.
The rest are alternative story routes and splits.
Very good for replay. But you dont need to play 60 stages in a row to get to the end of the game, just if you want to play all the alternative routes.
