I'm just throwing that out before anyone says "game bad cause sales low". They know they have a niche audience, that's why you're paying a little bit more than what you would "think" they "should" cost.
Another example of this rule are shmups like dariusburst chronicle saviours, and the Atelier series.
Which is so weird because honestly Dragon quest is just as good as FF. But to be fair FF also likes to do super flashy and high end graphics. The best DQ game looked like a PS1 game when it was released (7) and yet it's incredibly deep and wonderful. My only complaing with Dragon Quest is that I wish for a dungeon crawler awesome game they'd let me have more than four party members active at a time.
As for Langrisser I've never heard of or played the original before, but if it's anything like the Wargroove/Fire Emblem/Banner of the maid type game that it appears to be then I'm game to check it out. I think the subtitles only thing might be a hurdle for many people though since we're on the topic.
Definitely 50 on consoles, wonder if neglecting to allow preorders on steam/even bother listing price information reflects the general quality of their typical pc ports.
Steam only lets "trusted partners" put up preorders and are pretty against them in general. Its not really NISA's fault.
the name NISA is on this product,
i want to know before getting invested---->is this censored with modern "woke" politics edits?
they started to go that rout with falcom games,
such a shame that i have to ask this in this day and age of cancel culture
just to be safe,
will probably settle in with playing the old fan-transulated projects.
The most "risk" thing about them was the artwork by Satoshi Urushihara for the female characters in the original games.
While the new artist is not as good as him, the designs are really not more "modest" or anything, just blander.
You can also switch to the old character designs if you want, its a option.
The story content is still the same and Langrisser 2 still has the different story paths where you join the autocratic empire or even turn full on evil.
This is a good comparison video about the new vs the old chara designs.
