Preying on Langrisser I & II's chance of success
Now it will depend that how that Langrisser I & II remake will do both on reviews and its sales because it does well then they will consider doing Langrisser III, IV, and V the End of Legend but, if it does not do well then oh well tough break. Prey that Langrisser I & II will do well since they have improved some things over the original.

Success will probably depend largely on how well they can get the word out there and how much they will charge for it.

Niche games like Langrisser and the SaGa games don't have the goal of hitting the same sales numbers as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.

I'm just throwing that out before anyone says "game bad cause sales low". They know they have a niche audience, that's why you're paying a little bit more than what you would "think" they "should" cost.

Another example of this rule are shmups like dariusburst chronicle saviours, and the Atelier series.

Yeah even Dragon Quest doesn't sell that well in the west.

Which is so weird because honestly Dragon quest is just as good as FF. But to be fair FF also likes to do super flashy and high end graphics. The best DQ game looked like a PS1 game when it was released (7) and yet it's incredibly deep and wonderful. My only complaing with Dragon Quest is that I wish for a dungeon crawler awesome game they'd let me have more than four party members active at a time.

I mean ever since Final Fantasy went all button mashy/real time/action oriented + Diesel Punk/Over the Top Sci Fi I've lost all interest, and DQ has taken up the mantle for the leading Fantasy Turnbased JRPG that I crave :)

As for Langrisser I've never heard of or played the original before, but if it's anything like the Wargroove/Fire Emblem/Banner of the maid type game that it appears to be then I'm game to check it out. I think the subtitles only thing might be a hurdle for many people though since we're on the topic.

depends on what they sell it for, NIS prices usually too high. I wouldn't doubt they try to hawk this ♥♥♥♥ at 50-60 buckadiddlydigeroodoos. they sell it for 15-20, it'll probably do well; word of mouth on these things is important.

Definitely 50 on consoles, wonder if neglecting to allow preorders on steam/even bother listing price information reflects the general quality of their typical pc ports.

Steam only lets "trusted partners" put up preorders and are pretty against them in general. Its not really NISA's fault.

never jumped on this series, it looks good,
the name NISA is on this product,

i want to know before getting invested---->is this censored with modern "woke" politics edits?
they started to go that rout with falcom games,

such a shame that i have to ask this in this day and age of cancel culture
just to be safe,
will probably settle in with playing the old fan-transulated projects.

There is not really anything to censor in these games.
The most "risk" thing about them was the artwork by Satoshi Urushihara for the female characters in the original games.
While the new artist is not as good as him, the designs are really not more "modest" or anything, just blander.
You can also switch to the old character designs if you want, its a option.
The story content is still the same and Langrisser 2 still has the different story paths where you join the autocratic empire or even turn full on evil.

This is a good comparison video about the new vs the old chara designs.

In the Original Langrisser, damage numbers is dependant on stats, remaining HP and RNG. I see they didn't include this and the remake will always see the damage numbers entirely dependant on stats. This creates the same outcome which doesn't give you the same facepalm situation whereby your Ledin is OP yet unable to wipe out an archer unit.

Sadly, I don't see this game garnering attention from people who aren't already fans of the series or genre, the mobile sprites make this game seem so cheap...
