(SPOILERS) About a certain character's fate...

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i've played every game in the series except for the third one and after finally getting to play this one i was like... holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥. they didn't have to do Kelly (natsumi higa) like that. funnily enough i picked the option about her not appearing in a sequel just to get over her death.

It's crazy how Kelly out of everyone in this game got so much ♥♥♥♥ thrown at her for three whole games, only to end up just dying a cheap (imo) heroic death in the weakest disaster the series has faced so far.

Yeah, it's kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, for killing one of the cameos off like that (while the scary-looking lady lives on). Would've left such impact if the game wasn't terrible, compared to the previous games. Heard the timeline of the next game is going to be between 1 and 2, so maybe we would get to see her... well, struggling more.

Don't worry, She will also go through a lot in Disaster Report 5. The 5th game was confirmed back in December of 2020, and they showed off a Character Model that looked EXACTLY like Natsumi Higa, and the game is confirmed to be set in 2008. Between the 1st and 2nd games, (And according to Granzella, it will be Open World)

There is still not much news about it, but I am sure we might hear something about Disaster Report 5 next year, and that it comes out both in Japan and World Wide at the same time unlike all the other games. (1st and 2nd Game's english ports came a year later, the 3rd game never got an official game, but the 3rd game has an English Fan Patch for the PSP Emulator, PPSSPP. And the 4th game having a 2 year gap between the Japanese Release and the English Port.)

I'm also shocked that Kelly suddenly loses her plot armor in that game for apparently, a dramatic shock value, and there's no requirement/route to have the protagonist save both Hiroko and Kelly unlike previous games. BTW, despite the comedic elements and goofy costumes, the fourth game's protagonist is much more incompetent and weak, and the game much lacking action and disasters than the previous ones, according to me.


FYI The fourth game was intended to be released around 2011, but it was canceled due to Tohoku Earthquake. Kazuma Kujo (the producer of Disaster Report series who left Irem and becomes the creator of Granzella) admits that he now can do everything he wants, and even if there's no Tohoku Earthquake, he would still be difficult to do various things in Irem. This implies that Kujo left Irem because they canceled the fourth game (until Granzella decides to continue the project) not just because of Tohoku Earthquake, but Irem finds out that the scenarios are too depressing, dark and/or unpleasant that not even goofy choices and costumes will help them, even by Disaster Report standards (Especially the White Shirt Cult arc, Miracle Water arc, this Hiroko's Attempted Suicide arc, and Housen Florist arc).

I wish the fourth game (or at least Kelly's death or the bullying followed by Hiroko's attempted suicide) is an alternate universe or timeline rather than being canon. The Epilogue DLC doesn't address the fans' complaints, which only add fuel to fire…

Yeah I do agree that having a choice to let her survive should have been added. But unfortunately, Disaster Report 4 doesn't have any choices that matter. Heck the 2 endings (Not counting the joke ending you can obtain from the Miracle Water Arc) is only selected by just 1 choice. It is a very watered down game, and it makes me hope that DR5 will allow us to adventure where we want, but the more the city falls apart, the more we have to get creative with progressing forwards.

I hate how a lot of people have poor impressions of the series due to the terrible decisions made for this game. And it makes me wish we got the first 3 ported to PC so people can experience what the series can actually do.

Honestly it really sucks the only modern re-release for this franchise is exclusive to the JP versions, and they were on the PS3. Would a possible re-release on Steam and modern consoles even be worth doing for Granzella? Don't really know how much success they got since the release of ZZT4 and RType Final 2.
I'm just dying to know what the official title of raw danger and ZZT3 now would be if they ever did re-release them.

I agree. If only they have enough budget and good game development and remake decisions, Granzella can re-release/remake the first three games into any platforms, including Steam/PC.

Compared to ZZT123, I still hope that Sakurazaka Shouboutai(桜坂消防隊) can be re released. It has never been released outside of Japan(even no english patch) and is largely underestimated.

Yeah, I hope so. I wonder if they can remake or remaster with the cooperation with Irem (and Racjin). I hope that in the port, the culprits of serial arsoning (and attempted murders in said incidents) gets properly hidden (the major problem why the culprits are easy to guess because the voice aren't voice-changed).

It's less and less likely since Irem stopped focusing on video games, but it needs a English patch too much!
