Tool for elderly man at the station

I'm trying to rescue the old man in the collapsed house near the train station after the collapsing apartments. I take the boat around the back and can get to him but it says I need a tool to rescue him. I have a crowbar but i can't use it, what do I need to do? Thanks in advance :)

Cheers guys :) really enjoying the game so far. Recently ended resident evil 3 so nice to have a chill game to relax with :) installed pcsx2 as well so after this will play the first 2 :)

i thought this car was a challenge, but where is you found the crowbar?
