Can You Make Custom Songs?
Or are there plans to add something like that later?

That is definitely something we'd like to add, although it will come after a handful of other updates. One issue we need to look into is legality & rights... It could easily become messy for us if everyone starts sharing tracks with copyrighted music!
Makes total sense, if custom song support isn't something you could legally offer officially, providing documentation on how songs are managed could be a good alternative :)

Community efforts are almost always the easier and safer option to go with when coming to custom content anyway!

Other games, such as Spin Rhythm XD only provide an editor and the ability to zip up custom tracks for personal backups.
I noticed that there is a song editor in the game still. I did a quite test at adding a custom song (just put random notes to test with) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64FLhVmR4qQ

But that should be entirely possible now for someone familiar with Unity game modding

guess you can do it like the clone hero way, have people share their songs themselves instead of relying on workshop. its harder but makes that copyright stuff a lot easier

Lol, yeah. I guess that "technically makes that an authentic "Rick Roll" map then 😂
I'd definitely buy it when the custom maps are here, huge potential.

Actually, you probably could avoid the annoying copyright "issue" if you provide a file format for the gameplay track of a music/song (that people could create), and then have the actual music/song processed independently.
Then the modder telling people which music/song file to play with their gameplay track.

In result, you would provide, in-game, a solution to "read" a gameplay track (provided by the modder), then the player would provide themselves the actual music/song/sound file to read alongside that track, either by allowing them to read/open a music/song/sound file to match the gameplay track, or (if you want) even using a youtube/spotify link (or other platform providing music).

Then, you'll be completely free of copyright issue because it's the players themselves that would provide the music/song.
And the modders as well, because they would just provide a gameplay-track.

"Audiosurf" games kinda work that way (aside the gameplay-track aspect that is auto-generated by the game itself on reading the youtube-link/audio file).

---------
And on a side note, you could also allow the modder to add a video file for the "background" aspect to go along their gameplay-track.
(or not, and every modded music would have a generic background)
