Do you play with inverted mouse configuration?
Hey! When the game first launches it is immediately set for the mouse to be inverted, but I changed it because it was too difficult. Have I wrecked my fun somehow? Or is everyone playing without the inverted configuration?

Inverted is generally recommended because that's how a trombone works: out -> lower pitch, in -> higher pitch! You're welcome to play however you want, but that's how it's intended to be!

I think there should be an option that makes it so pushing out pitches lower and pulling in pitches higher but the onscreen guide should flip to reflect the same movement as your mouse.

I'm sure reading in reverse is part of the challenge of this game but I think it would be a nice option to have.

Inverted controls just destroy my brain, i have never played any game with inverted. I enjoy it much more this way. Play however you want :p
I played on the Steam Deck and inverted just wasn't doing it for me. I don't feel bad for changing it though since tilting a controller doesn't really emulate a trombone like a mouse would anyways

I just thought of something, how about giving an option to put the sheet upside-down instead? That way the movement would be trombone-accurate without needing to mess with muscle memory of non-inverted mouse users

Yeah I play with controls inverted.
For me it helps if I don't think of it as "inverted". Rather I try to stop thinking of the mouse as a mouse and imagine I'm holding an actual trombone slide: pushing away from you lengthens it, and pulling towards you shortens it. Same as with a guitar; holding your hand lower on the neck means higher notes, higher on the neck means lower notes. Getting notes right like this feels awesome, as if I'm actually playing an instrument rather than moving my mouse on my desk.

The real problem I have is that sometimes the mouse cursor appears on top of the slide indicator on the left, which instantly breaks the illusion. I've had this happen a few times even when I made sure to move the cursor all the way to the right of the screen before I start. No idea what caused it.
