... so..., if you're just looking for a "serious game", probably isn't for you (but give it a try, watch gameplays on YT)
This game kind of excels at both, it's got some absolutely hilarious sillieness that gets amplified even more if you suck at the game but also it's a legit and challenging skill based rhythm game with a real statisfying flow to it once you do get good at it.
Honestly it's quite impressive how they made a game where being bad at it as well as being good at it both have a strong and unique appeal.
This game isn't some sort of meme or joke, really. It absolutely is a setup to one, but whether there is a punchline is entirely up to you, the player.
Also side note:
I'm not a trombone player but I am highly confident that professional trombone players are already calling each other "tromboners" in their own circles as a kind of in-joke and you can't convince me otherwise.
