Yes and no, it have a lot of classical songs, but there's some remixes and exclusives too. But in every map has this "comical vibe" in the background.

... so..., if you're just looking for a "serious game", probably isn't for you (but give it a try, watch gameplays on YT)

I mean it's still a legit trombone rhythm game, and this game's humorous 'lore' and calling trombone players 'tromboners' hasn't lowered my respect for actual trombonists one bit. The opposite, if anything. But if you can't take some silly jokes, yeah maybe this isn't for you.

on one hand, its a silly game that has alot of fun. with itself. but the actual game part is closer to playing a trombone then any of other rhythm game is to their simulated activity. its really solid and well worth it on sale.

The "art of the trombone" isn't being mocked in the game. The only thing it does is enable players to be hilariously bad at it.

This game kind of excels at both, it's got some absolutely hilarious sillieness that gets amplified even more if you suck at the game but also it's a legit and challenging skill based rhythm game with a real statisfying flow to it once you do get good at it.

Honestly it's quite impressive how they made a game where being bad at it as well as being good at it both have a strong and unique appeal.

This game isn't some sort of meme or joke, really. It absolutely is a setup to one, but whether there is a punchline is entirely up to you, the player.

Also side note:
I'm not a trombone player but I am highly confident that professional trombone players are already calling each other "tromboners" in their own circles as a kind of in-joke and you can't convince me otherwise.

When I was younger I got kicked out of Trumpet class because my lips were too big to play according to my instructor.. still hurts to this day. Maybe Trombone would be different idk

Personally, I have found Trombone Champ to be a very realistic trombone simulator. I often travel long distances to preform with numerous symphonies, so I often find myself playing trombone champ for 8-13 hours straight on my flights. This simulator has shown massive improvements to both my scale recognition and pitch correction, along with improving my long-standing rhythm issues. Without Trombone Champ, I would have been able to preform in both the President's Own Marine Band and Chicago Symphony Orchestra within the same day. This trombone simulator is the exact program you are looking for if you are expecting a serious training tool that is custom made for professional musicians.
