release timing is too strict
think osu! slider release leniency.
also if your alternating presses with mechanical keys, the game doesnt seems to read note accuation if the prior key is still "on its way back up". so you miss the accuation and get a x despite being in time.

I click with the mouse, no problems there, got to 20 s ranks with it

I used to click with the mouse. Also got to 20 s ranks with it. Then I switched to keyboard because I want to be able to play the game for extended periods of time without destroying my arm. (also the latency issue got fixed so it was finally actually playable)
It's not really "too strict" but there's absolutely something off with release on keyboard. It feels disproportionately difficulty to fully release one key before pressing another in an extremely short period of time. It's not like a game braking thing, more like a minor inconvenience, but it absolutely does exist and absolutely affects things.

I recently made a custom chart that has tons of 32nd notes immediately followed by another note with a jump up in pitch and it's borderline impossible to release between notes with any sort of consistency. A ~20ms window of inconsistency is really impactful in something with as precise timings as music.
