What am I missing here, because I can't seem to find a good use for the marketplace huts?

I can have my tribe mine and collect things and I can instantly move from area to area whatever materials I need, via my backpack.

It also gives me something to do.

I used the marketplace to transport everything from the previous region to the marketplace in the region i am currently playing. so if i need something, i only need to check one marketplace.
