Magnetic USBC Charging Cable ?
So I just got a Index controller dock from the maker site Etsy, The person who made it suggested to use magnetic USBC cables but most on amazon look dangerously cheap.

Does anyone, Including if any Valve engineer may be lurking here, Happen to know which 3rd party magnetic cables are suggested for use with the controller for charging or what specs to look out for ?

Make sure they support fast charge, and if they heat up while doing so, return them.

I think it's Terasako that we have a lot of 'round here. . . .we haven't had any issues with them.

(some are definitely Terasako---probably all of them, though the older ones seemed to have a thicker sleeve/wire)

We also had a pair of [something else, definitely not Terasako], and despite them looking almost identical to [what I'm pretty sure is Terasko], the quality was hot garbage...they wouldn't fast-charge properly, and they failed quickly...a completely different class of product. So yes, there are real stinkers out there.

A way to avoid all that might be to try a magnetic data cable...I imagine those would be of higher quality (but probably cost a whole lot more).

I have tested the following product and it works with the Index controllers. This cable has data pins, and supports qualcomm quick charge, high amp charging (I have used 3 amps before), but not PD quick charge, although the index controllers dont support that either.

Please note: if the magnetic end of these cables ever touch the floor there is a chance they will not work again, as any magnetic grit that gets stuck in the cable side of the connector will never come out again, although its a 15$ part.

I've been using these, embedded in my wall-mounted, 3d-printed controller holder: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MS85954/
Zero problems. Except that I glued the inserts into the Knuckles so they'd not come out easy, and probably invalidated my warranty in doing so, lol. But yeah, apart from that, they've worked great.
