Stick drift, why is this still a problem today when Dreamcast already solved it way back?
I saw a video on Youtube recently detailing how Dreamcast, through its myriad of failing points, actually overcame the issue of stick drift in their controllers.

You could pick up any Dreamcast controller today and the stick would be just as tight as the day it was rolled out of the factory. It did so, by using magnets instead of springs and sensors instead of potenciometers. Literally impossible to kill through degradation by use, and Sega even managed to build it in a way that made it easy to swap out/maintain.

Why is this a lost technology that nobody uses? Even if it costs more to make, I'm sure it would be well worth the price to have a model using this method of joystick control and sell it at a higher price as a "pro" version. I would ABSOLUTELY pay for that, and I'm sure many others here would too.

Would be amazing if this could be something that would happen in the near future. Heck, I would be overjoyed if this would become the industry standard for controller sticks eventually. Since this is the one common issue with ALL sticks on controllers today.
