Basically 1 year warranty if the problem is valves fault.
From 2021 you don't have two years anymore. It was UE law, not the UK.
And about this six years, after six months you need to prove that the device broke because of valve fault manufacturing or design error.
And prove that in court if valve ignores you.
For me, this is one of the biggest problems with Brexit.
So you know better than them?
Plus, I'm too old to be "child" ;)
But a little bit of culture is probably too high demands.
WRONG! This is a common misconception.
We cut and pasted all EU law into UK law before we left the EU. No changes have been made to the current legislation so the EU rules still apply and will apply until an amendment is made to the existing law.
The Citizen Advice Bureau are giving you incorrect information if that's your source. Ask the CMA - Competition and Markets Authority. The CAB is an independent non-profit, not a legislative body.
Also, the fault with analogue sticks is well documented. Look at the discussion boards here alone, let alone Reddit, YouTube and other sources. Proving that this is a product fault is easy in this case - the difficulty lies in having the will and money to fight Valve in court.
If it's still under warranty, (this why i'd never buy valve stuff on my main account, and with my main bank card) and why I advice you use a paypal account... and maybe PO box.. you could have done a chargeback or taken legal action in small claims court.
