Broken strap - how to get replacement?
The plastic part that holds the strap in place has snapped with less than 24 hours of use. Is this a consumable item I can get a replacement for? (even if it doesn't snap, the cloth bit is going to wear out eventually!)

Did you ever get an answer on this? My issue is similar except the bungies pulled out of the plastic piece.

For me the rubber came out from the plastic circle. I was able to take off take plastic cover and saw that the two ends of the rubber string was held together with a piece of metal. I had to force open the metal with pliers, put back the string to it's place and bend it back. This solved my issue... but eventually im sure that once it came out, it will keep coming out. It would be nice if Valve where selling a pack with spare parts.

Valve products have 1 year warranty all the time, so what I did to get my hand strap replacement was:
1. Went to the "Support" tab on the Steam website.
2. Click on "Steam Hardware," then "SteamVR," then "Valve Index," then "Contact Steam Support."
3. Send a support message asking for a replacement due to broken straps.

It worked for me, as long as you have proof (I sent a picture of my broken controller straps).
Hope it helps!

Hi ddevo2x.

Can you tell us please how it went? Did you get a new controller? How long the shipping took? Etc. Thanks

On my Valve Index, the spiky end of the velcro-style strap was detached from the strap. Looks like it was thermally attached. I'll try to glue it back using superglue.
