is there any problem with my mp3 files?, are they not compatible?.
is there anything wrong?
I played the 3rd Movement of Moonlight Sonata on my Piano, and tried making custom keys for the song in game, but it would take absolutely years using the current editor.
Too many button combinations to remember, and long winded tasks just to get notes in the correct place.
This could be resolved VERY VERY easily...
Simply have red or blue notes to the side of the screen, and also bar notes and button press notes also for red and blue, simply drag and drop the notes onto the line where they should be.
Also song scrubbing should be a thing too.
I work with audio in video processing using Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve, it would be impossible to work with complex audio files, without the ability to scrub the timeline and playback in real time where the notes markers should go for things.
Praying for a big update of the custom editor as it's really un-usable for complex pieces of music atm.
With a Decent Editor *User Friendly which has the notes readily available to drag and drop onto the timeline, this already perfect (Gameplay wise) music game, could be the complete package.
Thankyou!
It's designed for electronic music with set BPMs. BPM can increase and decrease too, but a multi movement piece like Moonlight Sonata which is almost entirely rubato would not be an ideal choice for a level to make.
If you watch our editor guide, you will see that you can scrub the timeline as you play. You can even play along with the music, placing notes with the 1-5 keys in real time. If you recorded the moonlight sonata yourself you should have a good feel for the rubato and can probably recreate the notes easily that way, and only have to adjust them for precision later (probably by using H to show / hide the waveform). The rubato would be another issue that is difficult to fix in any rhythm game editor (or even any professional DAW that is based around beats and bars).
Maybe jump in Discord and DM me to see if I can help set up the custom file for you.
Love the game though. 10/5
